Gateway EDI has been just terrific in helping us get underway with our electronic billing. I dreaded the task about switching to e-billing, but Gateway EDI certainly made it easy!

As of June 5, 2006, the National Provider Identifier (NPI) is required on all Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 855 Provider Enrollment Forms – this is only the 855 form. The carriers will require one of three forms of documentation to validate the NPI.
Many of our competitors participate in chaotic mergers and consolidations to achieve growth and profits, but at Gateway EDI, we grow by staying true to our vision. We wake up every day with this in mind: to make office life easier for providers by helping them tackle administrative and financial challenges, and by helping them get their money faster.
First, a bit on our overall performance: 80% of you gave us a “high” rating of 6-7 on a scale of 1-7. This score is great news, as it’s 5% higher than last year’s, and shows that most of you are quite satisfied with Gateway EDI. It also presents a challenge, as we always strive to improve how well we meet your expectations, and the bar is set even higher for next year.
Starting in 1999, health plans began to gravitate toward high deductible and out-of-pocket options. This trend has continued to grow with HSA, HRA and FSA accounts. As a result, responsibility for payments is shifting from payers to patients.
Gateway EDI offers additional services to save you time. Send us your Insurance Master and for just $100, we will review all your payers to be sure you are submitting the maximum amount of claims electronically.
Do you have piles of paper EOBs on your desk? Are you wasting valuable time printing remits from carrier websites? Are you worried that you’re not keeping up with industry standards? Gateway EDI can help. We have a one-stop solution for all of your remittance advice and secondary claim needs. It greatly reduces headaches and wasted time, and it is becoming more essential as paper disappears from the health care industry.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 requires issuance of a unique national provider identifier (NPI) to each physician, supplier or other provider of health care. To comply with this requirement, CMS began to accept applications for, and to issue NPIs on May 23, 2005.
