Product Spotlight: Eligibility

Gateway EDI didn’t just listen to your requests for a more robust eligibility payer list, we’re taking action. Our plan is to enhance our eligibility offering with access to all Medicare plans and many Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and commercial plans. Our recently formed partnership with Passport Health Communications, Inc. will make this possible.

New Year – New Card

No one likes rejection. So we try to eliminate rejection as much as possible. The number one cause for rejection in our business is “Invalid Insured ID” – eligibility issues. It is very important, at the beginning of each year especially, to ask your patients for a copy of their insurance card.

Your NPI: Get It, Share It, Use It

In order to support requirements for the National Provider Identifier (NPI), a new HCFA 1500 form has been created and mandated for use for all paper claims as of April 1, 2007. If Gateway EDI does your paper claims for you, this change requires no modifications on your part for the April 1, 2007, implementation. Gateway EDI will handle the programming and testing of all required changes, and will notify payers of our plans for transition to the new form so that you have no interruption in payment.

4th Quarter 99% Club Tips

Gateway EDI is pleased to recognize our clients who have achieved 99% Club member status. To qualify for membership, a practice must be a Gateway EDI client for at least 6 months, submit over 200 claims monthly, and maintain a 1% or lower claim submission error rate for every month of the quarter.
